Is there currently a proposal to limit the ability to be excused from jury duty for job related reasons?

I am currently completing an assignment on the jury system, particularly in Queensland. My legal studies teacher has told be that there is currently a proposal to limit the ability to be excused for job related reasons, but I can not find it anywhere.

Does anyone know if this proposal exists and if so where I can find it?

  1. USA instituted one.  Before lawyers, doctors and elected officials were excused.  No more.  Even the mayor of NYC had to answer the subpoena.  Needless to say he wasn't picked.   The only excused people are members of the Jehovah Witness religion.
