  1. This question answers itself.  You must stay away from any kind of water if there is lightning.

  2. Lightning travels through the ground, pipes, and the salt on your body

  3. When a body in water is in contact with a circuit path, it will conduct current. “In contact” can mean:

    Feet on the pool floor

    Touching sides of the pool

In contact with ladders, underwater lights, railings, etc.

At the first signs of thunder or lightning, all pool activities should be suspended (showers, too) until 30 minutes after the last observed thunder or lightning.” Hear thunder after 27 minutes of activity suspension? Start your 30-minute clock all over again.

Disruption of activities with all of its unhappy consequences is inevitable. “Safety is the prevailing directive.”

  4. Yes, there is danger present when in contact with water during a thunderstorm. If lightning were to strike nearby, the electric current would be conducted through the water and any conducting materials in contact with the water. The chances of a strike are low, but its not worth the risk.

  5. Yes, and you should not only leave the pool, but the pool area itself. If lightning hits outside, it can easily travel into the pool facility. This applies to both indoor and outdoor pools, and it doesn't matter whether the lightning hits the ground or a power line. It'll still travel through the area.

  6. What rock have you been under?

Water is an excellent conductor of electricity.  One of the first things I learned about water safety and storm safety is to get out of the pool and take shelter if I see lightning.

Do you use a hair dryer in the bathtub?  I hope not.

  7. Yes becuse when shock waves from lighting his the ground or water,it develops into a sort of charges which can make u electrocuted. So do not be out during lightining,stroms...

  8. I have a neutral answer.  I once swim during a heavy rain with thunder and lightning. Nothing happen to me. It was in Malaysia.

But my knowledge is it is very dangerous.  When I go swimming, the lifeguard will chase us out of the pool to avoid getting into danger years ago but now, they do not seem to care or do anything about it.
