  1. It's a very good idea to hit the brakes on population growth. The world may have enough room, but we're running out of resources. The quality of life is poor for extra mouths. The oceans are almost 'fished out', and we're bumping our heads on the ceiling of sustainable resources, like wood and fresh water. It's O.K. to not have kids--YOUR quality of life will be better.

  2. noooooooooo, infact if all the fat people were gone maybe we can all survive and not suffer from lack of food. the un said that in 2030 50% more food will be demanded for earths population. imagine all america starving like africa is now. i think fat people are making it worse.

  3. Remember that humans are very creative. They can find ways to manage. Fro instance, in Japan families live comfortably in very small apartments. It is more is a matter of having the commitment to make it work than the ability.

  4. food and fresh water are the main problems, not space.

if all th 6 billion of humans lived like US, we'd need 6 planets like Earth ("only" 3 planets with european way of life).

  5. Its not yet a matter of space but one of being able to distribute enough food. Since people are greedy for space, as well as for material comforts, the way that the space is being shared leaves many with insufficient room to be able to grow food. So they become poor and starvation rather than space is the limitation.

It is of interest to see if the Reverand Malthus who first suggested this problem of lack of space, will be proved right. The opponents to his theory claim that there is lots of space but insufficient sharing of it. With better land management there is actually pleanty of room for more people to live.

This is my claim too and I would have this happier situation come into being by the introduction of land laws that give everyone equal opportunity to use the land instead of it being owned and withheld out of use as at present. The same applies to supplies of other natural benefits such as air, clean water, radio wave spectra, airfield landing slots etc. To achieve this the government should remove taxation on our produce and apply the tax on the land owners, so that everyone would be able to pay the government only for what he takes from the community, namely the opportunity to earn.

    TAX TAKINGS NOT MAKINGS
