  1. depends where you are on small lakes usually one but large lakes and ocean can be many all next to each other


  2. If by the word "dock" you actually mean "marina", then the answer is absolutely yes. I have my boat berthed in the Vallejo Municipal Marina in California, and right next door (literally) is the Vallejo Yacht Club. A few miles away there are two more marinas, and about three more if you extend the distance to within ten miles. If you go to San Francisco, you'll see the South San Francisco Marina, then Pier 39 Marina, then the San Francisco Yacht Club, all within a few miles of one another. If by the word  "dock" you actually mean "dock", then again, the answer is yes because each marina has many docks, all right next to one another. I hope this helps.
