  1. You ask for a site.  I will give you one without all the waffle.  A picture is worth a thousand words.

  2. Yes.

We know that atmospheric CO2 levels have increased 37% over the past 150 years, from about 280 parts per million (ppm) to 384 ppm.

And we know from isotope ratios that essentially all of this increase is due to humans burning fossil fuels.

And we know how much of a radiative forcing (how much warming it will cause) is associated with this increase due to the greenhouse effect.

We know this value is much greater than changes in solar output and other natural factors (see graph above).

We know that solar irradiance also hasn't increased on average over the past 30 years as global warming has accelerated rapidly.

And we know we're in a very stable and slightly cooling portion of the Earth's orbital (Milankovitch) cycles.

There are also many basic scientific facts which can only be explained if the current global warming is being caused by an increased greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide accumulating in the atmosphere from humans burning fossil fuels.

For example, the planet is warming as much or more during the night than day.  If the warming were due to the Sun, the planet should warm a lot more during the day when the Sun has influence.  Greenhouse gases trap heat all the time, so they warm the planet regardless of time of day.  Another example is that the upper atmosphere is cooling because the greenhouse gases trap the heat in the lower atmosphere.  If warming were due to the Sun, it would be warming all layers of the atmosphere.

This is enough evidence to convince almost all climate scientists that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.

  3. the evidence is only that since man's co2 emissions have increased, global tempurature has increased.

  4. This relationship has been studied by scientists for over 100 years.  It was pretty well defined and established prior to WWII.

Research the names Arrhenius, Fourier, Tyndall, Gilbert, Lowell and others.  Fourier is generally credited with establishing the mathematical relationship between CO2 and heat, used today in the high power CO2 cutting lasers.  That was in 1824.  Arrhenius is credited with quantifying the proportionality between changes in atmospheric CO2 and atmospheric temperature. Gilbert showed the relationship between Arrhenius's work and position in the periodic table.  Gilbert is often called the father of modern chemistry.  Lowell, an astronomer, saw the inplications for planetary science, and published on the subject in the 1880's.

  5. Check out the IPCC site along with numerous other scientifically backed sites. It has been PROVEN for years but there is still a camp that denies the evidence for whatever reason they may have? Just as there were those who said "Smoking doesn't cause cancer", "CFC's don't harm the ozone layer" & "There is no acid rain".

  6. Yes, but is is natural. It has nothing to do with humans.

  7. I found "PonderTheMaunder" recently and think it fantastic.  A high school girl shows CO2 is not well correlated to temperature, then shows what is.  Not bad to do what the IPCC's "climate scientists" cannot.

  8. No.  CO2 has not been shown to drive warming or cooling.  The reverse is the case.  Temperatures have been shown to increase first and then CO2 increases.  If temperatures cool, CO2 concentrations drop but there is a lag time of several hundreds of years probably because the ocean doesn't heat or cool as fast as atmospheric temperatures. CO2 is a greenhouse gas and should warm the atmosphere if levels increase.  Human emissions of CO2 should increase the temperature but it is certainly minor and certainly beneficial overall.  Those that suggest that it isn't are pushing an agenda in my opinion.  The benefits to warming are obvious to anyone that isn't drunk on the global warming Kool Aid bandwagon.

  9. Carbon dioxide traps the suns heat thats why it is linked to globl warming

i have found this website but not sure if it answers your question lol

  10. there is a direct link between temperature increase (or decrease) and carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere but it is actually the opposite to what most people think it is! its like this:

    temp increases=======> carbon dioxide increases!

                              (leads to)

this is because, as you probably learnt at quite an early age in science lessons, ' the hotter a liquid the less amount of a dissolved substance it can hold.' bearing this in mind picture the earth from space...and how much of it is water...plants living in this water (seas and oceans) photosynthesise and give out tonnes of CO2 and the seas/oceans fill up with it. now apply the science lesson quoted above and its obvious that the sun heats up the sea causing it to release loads of previously dissolved CO2 into the atmosphere.

there is proof for this (other than the simple class experiments that you may have done) when examining graphs of temp:CO2 there is at least a 500 year delay on CO2 levels increasing:

and please look at the scale on the X axis!!! its THOUSANDS of years NOT years!

    hope that helps

  11. Probably not between emmissions and GW.   There is strong evidence that CO2 helps block heat from radiating away from an area though.   Its kinda like the food industry argueing that salt does not cause heart attacks.    They admit that salt causes high blood pressure and heart disease and that high blood pressure and heart disease cause heart attacks, but there is no direct evidence that salt causes heart attacks.   For those who can think there is an obvious link, but for lawyers there is no relationship.

  12. Watch an Inconvenient Truth! Also google The Union Of Concerned Scientists.

Climate Change is real. Look at all the crazy weather; floods, storms, droughts, etc.

  13. No - None.  It is just as warm now as it was in the 1930's, long before industrialization and SUV's.

  14. Here is the Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center

Frequently Asked Global Change Questions page.  Also look at their links.

I liked how only one of AGW people could even find a source for their statements and the one source that was found is from almost a DECADE AGO!
