lt's not free for RESIDENTS, it's free for CITIZENS.    Illegals and non-subjects/citizens don't get it.  Those who do, pay heavily in the form of taxes, and then get in line for the free services.   A friend of mine, has a hearing impaired child.  The line for a hearing aid, is 18 months long.  Open heart surgery in the UK, is 4-6 months long.

People who can afford private medical care in those states, get it.  It's definately a two class system - first class, for those with money to pay privately, and coach - for those who want the "free" benefits.
