Is there free software that will allow me to log into my home XP system remotely as if I were local...?

I want to be able to sign in through the internet and be able to run the apps, etc. on my PC at home.

yes i access my pc at home from my work at anytime

You can also use LogMeIn.

My brother uses that, actually, to access my computer from halfway across the country and helps me troubleshoot.  Fantastic. :)

LogMeIn's programs are really great.
