Is there gap coverage for bluecross blueshield?

my husband would like to switch companies but the new company's medical takes 60 days to kick in. they are also covered under bluecross blueshield which is what we have now. is there some kind of gap coverage we can get to hold over the 60 days so our son will stay medically covered?

  1. If you don't have any pre-existing conditions your best option would be a short term medical. Short term policies will not cover pre-existing conditions, so if you have major pre-existing conditions that may require treatment during the gap you will want to take COBRA if it is offered. Visit a local agent to find the best plan for your situation and budget. There is no extra charge using an agent.


  2. COBRA should cover the time gap.

  3. You need a "termporary health insurance policy" or "short term..."  It's the same thing, but that's the technical name.

  4. yes, you can sign up for a "short term" policy that is month to month

  5. The only "gap" coverage is Cobra with your current employer.
