Is there going to be a $1000 heating assistance issued by the government?

I heard from other people that either the government is going to issue households a $1000 heating oil assistance -OR - that it is what Senator Obama said he will do if elected president. I've heard this twice before and just now heard it for a third time. It would be nice - just like the economy stimulus checks back a couple of months ago.

Obama proposed it, but he is pandering on that one.  There is no plan for another Federal government check this year.  I hope you saved the one you got to buy heating oil.

States may do something, but again, no plans yet.
