I've lived in Ca my whole life. they have been saying it since i was a small child and i'm 30 now. I'm honestly not afraid at all!   they cant predict them and every prediction has been wrong. Doesnt that artcle say 2037? come on. Dont worry about ur family...worry wont do anything. Life is unpredictable for everyone as it is.
