Is there going to be a new Zelda game for Wii in the near future?

I've been hearing rumors of a new one. Are they true?

No, there's no real information about a new Zelda game. If there was, you could find it at ign.com .

There are Zelda games for the virtual console, so if you really want to play a LoZ game, you could play one of those. They don't have as good of graphics, but still an enjoyment to play. Unless you have them already xD

I dont think they will for a long time, lets picture it this way, zelda the minish cap was released 3 1/2 years ago, but yet there have been only 2 games released after it. So I dont think they will for a long time. But I hope they make another one like phantom hourglass without the touch screen control because that messes up your screen calibration

Nintendo has said that the Mario and Zelda teams are hard at work on new IP's. Assuming they are working on a Mario and Zelda game we should have a new game in a year or two.

Of course, we don't know if a new Zelda game will be a full on Wii game, it could also be a WiiWare game. Nintendo has said there will be first party WiiWare games from Nintendo so, we could get a Zelda WiiWare game.

If you have heard rumors of the Legend of Zelda: Valley of the Flood then, that is a fake Zelda game and is not real.

We should get a new Zelda game in the next couple of years. On which system it will be on... I have no idea.

If by "near future" you mean "the next three years", then it's definitely possible. I don't think we're going to see one before then; the Zelda games take forever to develop and their release dates get pushed back a lot.

By that question i'm guessing you already have the legend of zelda: twilight princess.  I'm pretty sure they are going to make another zelda game for the wii, or they might already be making it, or they could even be making zelda games for the 360, PS3 or PC.  But I think they are going to make another zelda for the wii.  The fan base definetily wants another, and it is a Nintendo game, so they can't quit on zelda, they have to make another game of it for the wii.  Now if you've been hearing rumors, that's either a total lie, or they are trying to say that the demands are pretty high for another Zelda, so Nintendo has to make one.  Overall, the Zelda games will not cease yet, it's too soon.  So yeah, there's going to be another Zelda game.

At the E3 conference they mentioned that the Zelda and Mario teams were hard at work on another game. So technically yes, but we don't really know how long it will be till it comes out. Here's a video of the conference if you're interested in seeing it yourself:

Well its been in development for a while now apparently both a wii and DS version, but I don't expect it will see a Western release until 2010, there are two teams that work only on Zelda games within Nintendo, one on the console versions the other on the hand-held versions, so basically there is always a Zelda game in development at any given time.
