  1. Listen, I'm Italian and I'll tell u the truth.Italy sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hope to go to live to Canada to be free from this place of ...!The government doesn't exist.Politicians live thanks to our blood, mafiosos are everywhere.Justice I've never seen any justice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!People and education? What education?????????????If u're not rich u get an education which is very poor comparing it to U.S.A.

Please, don't go to live there or u'll destroy your dreams.

Prodi is an idiot!!!!He's destroying our economy. The mionister of economy is a b*****d and let's not talk about the others. The government is a total s...!Italian schools are dividede into private(catholic/american/english/spanis... schools which are good)and public which are normal. The problem is when u enter into a public high school.I've been studied for 5 years in a public high school.I studied languages.I've been studying 5 years without any computer! We are very envious of United States and Canada. You live very well.I hate my country.

  2. Italian schools are very good. There is a great deal of discipline and state exit exams are required at the end of the 5 year Liceo (equivalent to our HS) program before you get your diploma. Many consider the 5 year HS program equivalent to a US HS and Junior college program combined.

As to their laws...well, lets just say it is different then what we are used to but like anything else you need to adapt and accept the laws. If you live there you need to understand the system...just as someone would if they moved to the states. The government??? Well, lets just say it is impossible to keep up with Italian government. No matter how many times they form a new government it always seems to be comprised of the same old guys!! Italians are very political - as a result every one has an opinion and there are too many political parties to count...right wing conservatives to extreme left wing parties....like the PCI (Partito Communista Italiano)...the most popular party throughout the years has been the more moderate Democrazia Christiana..DC...slightly right wing and generally backed by the Catholic Church.

Despite all the political chaos Italians survive...they are very resilient people...

  3. education in schools is quite good - I've been told better than american schools (but we don't have so many afternoon activities...actually, we haven't any) - the person who said that private schools are not that good is quite right (private universities instead are rather good)

as for the government...I didn' like the previous government (Berlusconi), but the one that we have now is not acting well (many italians are disappointed by very stupid laws they have decided ... and also by some decisions that ahve been made not for the sake of the Italian people but for Italian politicians'sake)

  4. Don't know about schools, but good is not exactly one of the words I would use to describe the government in Italy.

  5. i didn't even know Italy had education or a government

  6. Italy is one of the top 6 industrial countries in the world. Even though the government is often at (violent) odds with the opposition (it's a wonder the country functions sometimes) and vice versa the country works miraculously well.

High Schools are probably better than many American schools.

Laws? Laws are fair only when the defend YOUR rights. Yes, there are fair laws but with a good lawyer....

  7. well, i was born and i live in italy, where i studied. some years ago i watched on tv a report about italian and american schools where they compared them. people here generally go to public schools (state schools) which have so many problems, but somehow in most cases, they do work well. I mean, there are many serious problems (one of them is the lack of practical organization) but the final preparation of the student is often better than in many other countries. private schools don't work that well. in the us private schools (at least for what i know) are very good. in italy people who go to private schools are considered stupid and less intelligent and they often have problems; actually private schools in italy are supposed to help people with problems (read: not smart enough). even rich people go tu state/public schools instead of provate schools...
