We live in the Midwest and find as we go back to Maine for our long summer vacations we all have these mild headaches upon our return. We think it has something to do with our bodies being used to the pull of the tides. Not sure if it is true or not. Does anybody know?

Thanks

  1. It's probably the altitude difference.   Depending on where you are in the Midwest, you could be anywhere from 500 to 1000 feet above sea level.  It doesn't sound like much but could be enough to affect certain people.  I know when I go skiing in the Rockies, I immediately start to drink a ton of water and take aspirin knowing that the altitude will give me a massive headache otherwise.  I learned that the hard way.
