  1. Yes there is cell phone and internet service on ship and both are really expensive.  So here's what I suggest.  Wait until you get to a port stop for internet service.  I went on the Freedom last Nov to the Western Caribbean.  There is an internet cafe right at the port in Cozumel that charges $5.00 an hour (vs $50 an hour on ship) .  also wait until you dock and get off ship to get a local cell signal so you pay your cell company's rates rather than the ship's rates.  In Grand Cayman there is an internet cafe right at the pier where your tender boat arrives (in the liquor store).  Its rates are also much cheaper than on ship. In Ochio Rios there is an internet cafe in the building where you dock.  Its more expensive than the others, but still a much better deal than on ship.

  2. Yes, the Freedom of the Seas offers internet and cel service on the ship.  Neither one is cheap.  The internet is liek 50 cents a minute, and the cel service goes through another network.  Last year when I was ont the Inspiration, I met someone whose cel phone was charging like 3 dollars a minute, and not using any of his plan minutes.

  3. Because it's not vacation if you can't take World of Warcraft with you.

  4. There is but you will have a high premium for them. My advice is to enjoy your vacation without them!

  5. Yes there is internet access and cellular coverage onboard Freedom of the Seas.

However, there's a few things you should be aware of.  Internet access is via satellite, there is a charge for it and it's not exactly cheap.  In addition it's not particularly fast, while typically faster than the average dial up connection, it is slower than most broadband connections.

As for cell phones, you will have cellular service while the ship is at sea, however it is VERY expensive.  Check with your carrier for exact rates, but cell phones used at sea are considered by your carrier to be roaming internationally, and are typically billed at the highest international roaming rates your carrier has.

If you absolutely must contact your family while you are away, don't use your phone onboard, instead wait until you are inport where typically you will be charged lower roaming rates than when you are at sea.
