  1. Don't think so.  Both wetsuit gloves and boots and dry suit boots are made from special materials that are light and able to hold heat well.  The seams are glued and stitched. New wetsuit boots have titanium for flexibility and heat retention, have good soles that don't slip, plus they slide off easier then the older boots do.  Boots and gloves aren't that expensive so just go by some good one that fit you.  If you live in colder climates, get at least 5 mil boots.


  2. Cold water swimmers usually rub lard and fats all over their bodies before jumping into arctic water.  Do the same and your hands and feet will be warm in no time.
