... And what is the best way to learn about perfusion in these areas (blood volume, amount of vessels, size of ..)?

  1. You need to be more specific....

    1. Perfusion is a dynamic process, and will be very different depending on what the person is doing.  For example, there is a big difference between flushed and blanched skin.  Similarly, muscles at rest and muscles during exercise will have very different perfusion characteristics.

    2. Also, perfusion in absolute terms (L/min) is very different from perfusion in terms of weight or in terms of volume.  For example, the adrenals are tiny, so only a small amount of blood flow through them.  However, in relative terms, they are among the most perfused organs.

    3. Bone marrow may be "sitting knee-deep" in blood, but the blood is relatively slow flowing.  On the other hand, there may not be much blood in each cubic inch of lung tissue at any given moment, but tons of blood flow through those capillaries.

In summary, you need to be more specific why you are interested in perfusion rates.  (For example, if you were a surgeon, your may want to know if you nick an organ by accident, whether it'd bleed like heck.)
