  1. You live where the people where you're going to find a job are coming to where you live because there are no jobs where your going to look for a job. Does that help?

  2. Um no offence, but I see people like you all the time.   People who start fantasizing about living in Mexico after having a great vacation at a resort for 2 weeks.  You usually last 1 month or less, depending when the money runs out.

Living and working in mexico is very hard!!  Especially for a gringa.   You can't just move here.  You can only stay on a vistors visa for up to 180 days.  If you want to stay longer you need to start your FM3 paperwork.  This is a very hard process.  Mexico frowns on having gringos/as work in jobs that their citizens should be in.  You also have to prove you have an income to support yourself of $1000 or more.   You will need sponsorship.

    Do you speak Spanish fluently?

Do you have a career that would be seen as a benefit?  i.e. Real estate agent or translator or manager for one of the chain stores here...home depot or costco?  Can they sponsor you?

And finally.  Renting an apartment.  What kind of references do you have?  Do you realize that Cabo is one of the most expensive cities in Mexico.  Do you realize how much it costs for electricity and air conditioning a month?   You are probably getting the run around from the realtors because they see dozens of enquiries like yours.

And finally.  No one 'starts a new life in Mexico' that isn't on the run or has done something illegal.  Maybe you should just deal with your situation instead of trying to run away?

    Best of luck.

  3. Good luck. If this is what you want to do, then don't let anyone get you down. Just make sure you really think it out and are being realistic about your expectations.

We are moving to Mexico in about ten months. I have done tons of research (there is always some sort of info) and will still be working in the U.S. I can't imagine trying to live off of a Mexican salary where the minimum wage can be $4.50 a day!!!! Think about that.

  4. Timeshare sales or a Mexican boyfriend are about your only choices.  Mexicans need the jobs much more than you do!

  5. Crazy cabo chick...but more or less its true...the only people that do what u'r trying to do are on the run! People in mexico want to go up to the states and people that live in the states want to go to Mexico...for what...u'r not gonna live better then u do in the states! Its hard...i know a couple of people that have been deported and are tying to do what u'r trying to do...its possible...everything is possible in mexico...everythhing...trust me! The only way u can acomplish that is if u know somebody in mExico like family that knows somebody that knows somebody that has a hook up in government or something that ur looking to do! Believe me...it has been done! GOOd luck! Maybe were wrong and sorry if we are but it sounds to fishy!
