My friend is moving to Chicago from Massachusetts and I'm going to visit her on Sunday to help her settle in to her new home and I was going to drive through Ontario Canada to get there but she called me and told me to take the turnpike in Ohio (and that's like 10x longer) because when she drove through Ontario on Wednesday night she said she was stuck in a traffic for like 4 hours in 3 different places because they’re repaving the highway and it’s down to only 1 lane on the 401 and that other highway near Niagara Falls and she said they’re closing the travel plazas and the only one open is dirty and old. I don’t want to drive like 4 more hours but if it’s going to be just as long in Canada with the construction I’ll go through Ohio, and they have panera bread an starbucks at Ohio travel plazas so that’s definitely a plus but yeah I would prefer the shorter way …… does anyone know if they’re done?

  1. Stay in the USA, be happy and stop at Starbucks.

    Jim B. Toronto.

  2. The western end of the 401 is undergoing major improvements.  It was the first part of the highway to be completed, and was showing it.  The service stations are old, but I'm not sure if they are being fixed.  I believe most of the road condtruction is done now.  There is lots of construction at the Ambassador Bridge too.

-yes panera bread is a plus, I go there whenever I go to the states, but we have Tim Hortons...
