Is there lots of taxis outside United Center after a Blackhawks games? Is the area outside UC really unsafe?

I am coming there in October and I have heard rumors from ppl who have been there that the area outside the UC is dangerous, is this true?

There aren't hardly any taxis around the UC, and even if there are, then you wouldn't want to get into one. You're taking your life in your hands. Also, the area around the UC is very dangerous, like any place that has a bunch of run down buildings, hobos, and Malcom X high school. It ain't like the South Side, but it's bad.

im not positvie but i dont think taxis are allowed at the united center. i think your best bet would be driving yourself or taking a bus to a train station

That area is getting better but still isn't good. You can probably get a taxi but I woudln't say there's going to be a ton of taxis waiting outside. They are trying to build condos and improve the area but its still kinda ghetto in my opinion
