Is there more more oxygen at night or during the day?

-plants do not produce oxygen at night

-people take in more oxygen during the day than at night

~we are more active during the day, and thus take in more oxygen

~we sleep at night, and when we sleep, we need less oxygen,

and thus take in less of it

I think the total effect on the global atmospheric oxygen concentration would be negligible unless you were monitoring a closed ecosystem.  You would need a known volume of air and plants and people whose respiration could be monitored.  Then you could get an accurate measure of how oxygen levels varied day and night.

  5. You can argue for any conclusion you like.  Only measurements would give you a definitive answer.  But at night, even plants respire, consuming oxygen.
