is there more oil in diesel vs Gas? just answer the question..

When producing a gallon of diesel fuel vs producing a gallon of Gasoline.

  1. Yes, Diesel fuel is a combustible oil and is mainly pure crude oil that has been heavily filtered, detergents added along with soot control chemicals.  All that is added into the hefty price of Diesel oil.


  2. It's a hydro carbon thing

    when crude is refracted/refinned the lighter [parts] rise high  in a tower type thing

    Depending upon how the tech stuff is controled quanity of each product cab be controled with deisel/kerisene being below 'gas'  so it does have Higher heavy hydrocarbon constituant  thus   more "oil"

    i know diesel is less processed than gas

    so i guess in a way yes


  4. You can get more gas from a barrel of oil than diesel. The reason the price is higher is because of this the supply (production) is lower per barrel. Meaning that more barrels must be used to reach 100 (ie) gallons.
