Is there more than one way to dye a rose black?

i've read in a couple places that to dye a rose black just mix food coloring till i get it as dark as possible and i have to let the rose sit in a vase of the dye and let it soak it up and that it could take a couple days. but if i had less time to deal with, could i simply "paint" on the dye or dip and coat it in the dye?

  1. I don't think so..there are some special florist sprays for changing color, but I've never seen those in the regular craft stores.

  2. you can spray paint them. also, Black Magic roses are available-- they are roses that are a very deep red maroon, almost to the point of black. they're quite beautiful and any local florist can special order them for you! good luck.

  3. it probely depends on if the paint is toxic or not i wouldnt do it

  4. *sniffle*  But they're so pretty colorful!!!
