Is there much construction work in glasgow?

i am moving to glasgow in october and was just wondering if there is much work for carpenters in or around the city. on a side note any idea what safety courses and such will i have to get before i can start.

there is plenty of new build on housing and industry in glasgow planned for the next 5 years for both first and second fix joiners.

the majority of firms want some form of safety passport which they will be very reluctant to pay for themselves. so any recognised course will do.
