Is there much in the way of good farm land, and is there adequate rainfall during the growing season? Also, if there is much farming, what are some of the typical crops?

  1. i doubt it. it is a national park and a holy place for the aborigines

  2. No for 5 reasons

    1 its a dessert

    2 its a national park

    3 its a tourist destination

4 in summer it gets to around 40 degrees Celsius nearly every day

5 you would have to ask the aboriginal elders if they would let you do it

  3. The answer is no to all your questions.

Uluru is a large monolithic rock and is just a tourism destination/

  4. It's a national park, so no farming,  take a look at the link below

  5. Uluru is also known as Ayres Rock. It's just a massive big mound of rock in the middle of Australia, so there is no farming on it, but there is farming in other areas of Australia.

Where I grew up, a few hundred miles inland from the east coast of Aust., there was some farming done. I grew up on a grazing property, where we raised cattle and sheep. We also grew some oats for cattle feed.

On other properties, where farming was the main activity, there was a lot of wheat farming in the area where I lived. There are all sorts of crops grown around Australia, but I think wheat would be the main one. Some of the other crops grown are sorghum, oats and canola. Lucerne is also grown, mainly to be baled as hay.

    Hope that helps.

  6. dono, but I heard they are going through a major drought, and are losing many farm lands to the dessert, Anybody know anything?
