  1. I suppose it is a question of what you mean by good farmland.

    Most of the province of Montana is pretty arid and better for ranching than farming, and even at that their livestock production is very low compared to acreage used for it.

    What crop farming they do in that province is mostly dryland crops like wheat.

  3. Yeah, most of the land in Montana is agricultural land.  Montana is a huge producer of agriculture.  Probably one of the largest in the US.  

    The plains areas around Great Falls in the center of the state have a large concentration of farms and ranches.
