  1. Sorry, it is no longer nighttime.  I hope you got some rest!  Benadryl works.  My daughter has asthma, and this often happens to her in the middle of the night.  Because it is an antihistamine, it opens the bronchials quickly.  Often, when you go to the ER, this is what they give you first.  If Benadryl doesn't work, then they give you the shots, oxygen, etc.

We also use Apple Cider Vingear, 2 teaspoons, mixed with Honey, 2 teaspoons, in 8 oz warm water.  Not sure how this helps, but it does.

  2. You shouldn't muck around, if it gets bad you need to go to the er. But you can make a really really disgustingly strong coffee and drink that. also turn the shower on hot full blast and sit by it and breathe in the steam. The caffine stimulates adrenaline and can help open up the airways and the steam also helps. But i would definately go to the er. You can die if you have a really bad asthma attack.

  3. There are OTC meds.  I can't advise because I never have tried them.   Good luck

  4. when that happens to me i go to Wal-Greens ...they have inhalers hanging on the wall....or  i take a HOT shower then put  vicks vaper rub  on my throat and chest then lay down under the sheets.

but if you get the inhaler dont use it like the perscribed one...just lightly use it

  5. Long time ago, if i get an asthma, i took some pill...but with meditation that i have been practice long enough, my asthma is gone...maybe you can try this
