  1. always...

  2. everytime

  3. Ya, just go off coarse and see how fast the plane can go

  4. Yes.

  5. They may be overtime work for pilots but it will not be in the seat in the flight deck, Pilots are limited to amount of flight time per month and per sequenced days, to allow proper resting periods.    If pilots generally work overtime, in the cockpit then the FAA will sooner or later, fine the airlines big time.

  6. There is no over time. Most airlines WILL NOT let you go over 80 hours. That is so called "safety of the guests onboard".

  7. lol, not supposed to be

but I have had a friend

    thats a pilot. Said he

    flew round trip to china

    once, 23 hours!

  8. i am a pilot for BA.  the only real work i do other than my scheuled flights is filling in for illness.  all flights are planned months and months in advance, so no spare flights creep up.

if u are refering to flights taking longer than they should then no, no extra pay.  Just the salery every year, plus bonuses :D

  9. If you're referring to work -no , if youre referring for OT pay- no again Pilots, as one guy said were given a month flight schedules ahead. Here they will know when they are off, when they are in reserves (they can't go anywhere as in really reserve duty if one get sick) and then their flights. Pilots are paid by the aircraft they fly (the bigger the payload- tthe bigger the basic salary). They have flight time paid by the hour from chocks off (before taxiing for flight) and chocks on (after landing and after parking). They must work or fly only 13 hours after that they get relief. Not sure if this is FAA mandating that beyond 13 hours duty is not safe already

So if a pilot wakes up at 4am and he reports at 6 then got delayed for 4 hours and flies to a 4 hour destination  he has amassed a total of 10hrs, he will not fly his return flight because he will exceed his 13hrs duty. American pilots know and do  this, for In Kuwait, sometimes another Evergreen pilot comes in when there is no reserve pilot at the hotel.

  10. Who cares, most pilots are lazy anyway. I should know, I am one!

  11. YES THERE WILL BE IT VARY FROM COMPANY TO COMPANY

  12. They all work overtime, what do you think they do when they are flying a plane that is delayed and the 40 hour mark has passed, they surely don't get up and walk away..
