Is there parasalling in progreso, Yucatan, Mexico?

We are going on a crusie to Mexico in a week and really want to go parasalling. But we don't know how much it is or where we can find it in Progreso...and if there is anything else you recomend doing there...

Progreso has some things for tourists but not a bunch, it's still very Mexican. There is a market when ever the Cruise ship is in as well as vendors along the beach selling crafts, silver etc.

You should find most things cheaper in Progreso than in other more touristy places but you may need to barter still, at least in the market.

I don't go to town a lot when the cruise ships are in but I have never seen parasailing. I would suggest that you use your stop in Progreso to do one of the excursions. You are about 90 minutes from the ruins of Uxmal, they are very impressive. You could also tour a Hacienda, swim in a Cenote, go see flamingos, tour the mangroves, see the beautiful mansions and impressive colonial buildings of Merida.

There's lots to do in the area but the beaches are not as nice as the Caribbean beaches that you will likely also be stopping at on your cruise so you may want to take advantage of your port time in Progreso to see some other cultural things. I'm sure you will be able ro find Parasailing at one of your other ports of call.

If not, I think there is usually a Corona Beach Party with a band set up on the beach, you can party it up there.

Also, as a heads up, there's a lot of construction happening in the downtown area of Progreso right now. They are in the middle of trying to make things nicer for the crusiers but it's a work in progress.
