  1. I guess it's time to get back on here and tell people how irresponsible it is to give information that might be used by the wrong people who would want to inflict harm upon others...

I don't care who you are and what you know... what reason do you have to be impart this information... whether it is correct, based on knowledge or whether you really don't know S H I T about the subject and want to make yourself look like you do...

    KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!!

You would think a paramedic/firefighter would know better.

  2. Yes there is.  You cant just touch it you have to strike it with some force.  Really there are 2  One on the head that will cause bleeding inside the brain and one on the chest that will damamge the heart. they both require extreme force and presion when landing the blow.  There are olny a few people on the earth that can pull it off and have been training for a very long time in the secret side of ninjitsu and will not show anyone how to do it.  But it has been proven that there are so called DIM MAK points.  there is a show on TV called fight science they study these types of things.  Kinda like mythbusters for Fighting

  3. There is not a pressure point you can hit like you see in the movies and kill someone, but there are places on the body you can strike and kill someone with one blow but it would be a "lucky" shot, you could not do it consistantly or on purpose.  One would be the chest, a strike to the chest when the heart is in ventricle repolarzation (the point just after the ventricles beat, right before the atria starts the process over again) can cause something called commotio corois (spelling might be off, I am going from memory).  This is where the heart instantly goes into a leathal arythmia like vfib, pulseless vtach, or asystole.  Another spot is the temple, but unless you are the Terminator, you would need a hammer or other simular weapon to do it.

    Hey "sensei"

This is america, people are free to ask any questions they want and people are free to answer them.  If you dont like it move somewhere else.  According to your reasoning, the news should not report on police officer that was killed by a gun because that would teach people that they can kill someone by shooting them, or that stabing someone in the chest with a knife can kill them.  We can no longer teach anyone any information that could be used for anything negative.  It is so ridiculous to think that you should not answer a question because someone may use the information for a bad deed.  Lets just start censoring all bad info.  No more rap music, video games with violence,  I guess its time to shut down the internet, censor the news, burn the books, and stop the production of any movies that are rated worse then PG.  Heck, while we are at it, lets become a communist country.  I know that I am exaggerating, but thats how ridiculous "sensei" statement sounds to me.   Believe me, there are billions of people that already know thousands of ways to kill someone, the fact that they have the knowlege doesnt mean that they have any intention of using it.  Someone could get a knife and kill someone, or find a thousand ways on the internet to kill someone that are a lot easier then they could by the one in ten million chance that commotio corois would occur due to a stike to the chest.  What a joke.  It still amazes me when people living here are in favor of censoring written words.  That is just so unbelievable to me.  You know there is more of a chance that you would punch someone, knock them out, and have them fall and hit there head and they die from a bleed to the brain then there is you punch them in the chest and cause commotio corois.  Does that mean real sensei's need to immedately stop teaching people how to throw a punch?

  4. Don't know if this is true or not, but figured you might find it interesting.

  5. it is just a myth-

odds are you CANNOT kill someone in one hit- there are exceptions, but that has little to do with a definitive striking technique designed to kill (weaponless technique that is) with one hit and more to do with the health and size/power difference between the two fighters-

obviously if bas reutten were to punch paris hilton in the face, bad things would happen and she would suffer severe injury and she MIGHT die from a hard strike, however even still- there is no guarantee of that.

so the concept of the "one hit kill" is a myth- even though under the right set of circumstances, it is possible for a single hit to kill someone.

  6. Myth.  Think about it - wouldn't more people die in fights if you could just hit a pressure point to make them fall over dead?

You CAN kill someone with one strike - there are lots of ways to do that (windpipe, back of skull, spine shots for example) but it takes a tremendous amount of force and a precise blow to kill someone - and it's not going to be instant death.

Harry Houdini supposedly died from a single punch to the stomach - in actuallity he had a swollen appendix which was ruptured when he got punched.  He died 2 days later of peritonitis - AKA ruptured appendix.

  7. You KNOW that if anybody knows about these pressure points, they are going to deny it and say:

    "IT'S A MYTH!!!"

    Right??

The only people who will affirm it are talking through their hat!

  8. quit watching hollywood movies

    KILL BILL

  9. Just a myth.......Or at least that is what I want you to think

  10. Some pressure points:

Temple (an inch or two up from the ear and a bot forward)

Solar Plexus (a hair above where the rib cage meets)

Jugular Notch (the depression between the neck and the clavicle just to the right/left of the trachea)

These points won't cause death if pressed by a light finger, but then again, if they are hit hard, at the right angle, they can indeed cause death.

Temple - broken skull, damaged brain, brain hemorrhage

Solar Plexus - pierced or otherwise damaged heart, disrupted heard rhythm, internal bleeding.

Jugular Notch - clavicle pierces or cuts the jugular vein, internal bleeding - difficult to clamp that one.

Since you said 'hit' I allow for hard hitting rather than touching so the answer is yes.  Whether the chances are slim or great is a different question.

When you say death, you don't say if you mean instant or delayed or either/or.  That said, depending on the strike, either result or no result.  Angles and power and other variables are at play.

If you hit someone hard enough in the gut, they could die.  If you kick someone in the ribs hard enough they could die.  If you hit someone in the kidney hard enough they could die.  These are pressure points in a sense, just not nerve points.

The question wasn't really specific enough to give a concrete answer.  We don't know if you meant nerves or not, instant or not or whatever.

That said, based on the actual question asked, the answer is Yes.

  11. they tested this on fight science(or i think thats the name) a show about martial arts on the discovery channel.

there was a technique taught in ninjitsu which would kill a person  if they did it right. it would break their ribs and compress the heart or something like that i think.

  12. a simple answer is no. there is no spot on the body where you can just touch someone and they would die either instantly or within days. however, the body is capable of producing enough power in a single blow that, if delivered to the precise spot under perfect conditions, it could kill a person. but since its your instinct to either move or block a strike, it is difficult to have that perfect strike.

  13. You mean there is only one?...... Oh yes, I meant to say that it is a myth.

I totally agree with what     Sensei posted

  14. NO...from a medical point there are truly only 4 pressure points...Two in the upper arm pit area and two in the inner thigh area ( as I remember correctly )they are called pressure points for they will stop the bleeding to that extremity if pressure is applied to it.

It is a common mistake. Most people are referring to nerve strikes when they talk about sudden death.

I have taken M.A.'s for a long time and you hear this and you hear that. King Fu is notorious for claiming things like this....but from my experience there is not one point to kill, even if you hit the temple or the back of the head with force or precision. If you hit anyone with a lot of force...Say chest area they will die. It has happened on the baseball field and in car accidents...With unlimited force, really any place where there is a vital organ or structure in your body death will occur.

But from a human on an adult there is not a true nerve strike to cause this..remember everyone is a little different from the next..so the spot if there was one would move..

  15. Most of this legend came into being at a time  when emergency response didn't exist and medical technique was no where what it is today.

I teach some cops and they tell me once or twice a year they respond to situations where someone died from a punch or kick  by NON MARTIAL ARTISTS.

  16. There are several pressure points that if struck with enough force will kill a person.  The temples, the throat, and the solar plexus to name a few.
