Question:

Is there really a version of Harry Poter that includes lots of swearing etc?

Just generally curious...my auntie told me that she got totally obsessed by the HP series, and that she was so eager to read the next one (she lives abroad, and the release date was later than that of the UK) she downloaded a version from the internet, and it was apparently older, more realistic language of 16 and 17-year-olds!

When she read the actual print version, she said that most of the one she downloaded, was identical to the book.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this internet one...why theres a different version, how you get it (I can't find it on Google!) etc

Cheers:]

  1. she probably got rick roll'd and downloaded a spin-off or a fan fic haha xD

  2. There's certainly fanfiction HP stories that contain stronger language and situations more appropriate for older readers, but it's not official.

The print version is the only official version.

Why don't you ask your aunt to send you what she downloaded?

  3. dun think so. The author's not the "type". Maybe theres like a fan movie or sumtn.

can you answer mine? it's easy peasy. It's about my characters (in my book): http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind... Smanx if you do. If you don't, that's ok, too.

  4. There's an "adult" version. The text is identical to the regular version. There is a different cover. That's it. I compared the "adult" version and the regular one in a bookshop once. Absolutely no difference!

  5. Nope. The adult version just has a more mature book cover. There's no other versions in which they swear. I mean the normal versions have curse words like a S s, B IT ch,d**n, and some British swear words, but i don't see why a harry potter book would need any stronger curse words.

  6. no its not a wind up, well not really

its a parody, called Barry Trotter

    happy reading

  7. Have you ever seen JK Rowling being interviewed? Can you imagine her using swear words.

    Think about it.
