Is there really an underground city under D.C. for the president and the secret service?

  1. Yes - that would actually be necessary.   If you want to check out some other underground places.......Google the 'Denver International Airport'......and check out the information regarding their wierd murals, and tunnels and hiding places.

  7. Yes tunnels that lead the way to the airport and an underground medical place at least that's what i heard from older relatives.

  8. Its not under DC, its in Virginia. And its not a city, per se, but it can accomodate Congress, the Senate, all the aides and staffers, military personel, and of course the people who would perfrom essential services ie: medical, cooking, sanitary, etc.

  12. There are elaborate shelters in and around the area not only for the President, but for most if not all Congressmen.  It's to ensure the continuity of government and has existed for quite some time because of the cold war.
