Yes. Its called "being a prick". So the main problem is that everyone hates you. If you can deal with that, then no theres no real problem.

sometimes its wong, sometimes it's the best thing to do... what's good with it is that  you would be risking great things if you wont pretend, playing safe is another way to win a game (machiavelli). what's bad about it is you're not being real.... and another thing, it really depends on your intentions..

The dictionary defines the word pretentious as "Claiming or demanding a position of distinction or merit, especially when unjustified". So, yes.

There is nothing wrong but I will say, one must be pretentious. This is formula for success.  What is wrong ........... to be over confident.

Pretentious people come off an insecure or just plain nutty.  As long as you prefer the company of other pretentious people then you would be o.k. though.
