  1. I believe what you are talking about is the discipline of good preventative medicine. There are many things you can do to keep your self healthy and living a vital life right up until it is your time to depart this earth place. Begin by learning as much as you can about nutrition, exercise, appropriate supplements and controlling stress levels.  Find a good functional and regenerative physician who will work with you on a cellular level who will set up a program specific for your body chemistry. There are many things you can do to ward off the degenerative ailments of aging and terminal disease.  We all are of course going to die, but you can stay healthy and enjoying that life right up until the end if you are willing to make the commitment to good and routine prevention.


  2. It really really depends on the conditions, and how much work you are willing to invest.

    The thing which most well fits your model is tai chi and or chi gung, but doing that requires a daily commitment.  Additionally, you have to find a good teacher to learn from (which is a pain, since there are so many charlatans in the field), and even chinese medicine has some problems it cannot heal (such as a torn ACL), or immediate accute trama (ie internal bleeding from a car accident).

    The second thing I'd vote for are oxygen therapies (ie. drinking hydrogen peroxide in the correct dosages).  There's a book called flood your body with oxygen which details a lot of this, but it's really awe staggering just how many conditions oxygen therapies work for.

    The third and final one would be to switch your diet from processed foods to locally grown produce (and some local meat/eggs/dairy), along with drinking filtered water.  A lot of the current health problems we have can be linked to those.

    Other than that, I am yet to run into anything else which will produce anything close to what you're asking (although some methods may for a few specific conditions) and generally when someone claims their approach does, they are a charlatan (that's been my experience anyways).

    Apart from perhaps very ascetic cautious living, there will inevitably be various body system failures over time that will require external intervention.

    Just one example is the growth of "Wisdom' teeth. These grow in later years -- middle age (hence "wisdom") -- in order to replace lost rear teeth.

    If you haven't lost these however, they still grow.

    The space intrusion creates extreme pain requiring them to be removed medically.

    An old medical maxim states: 'Any illness that has more than one effective remedy, means that while all of the cures are sometimes good, none of them are always good."

    This is, of course, why we are dependant on doctors to sort out the most effective solution.

    An old joke: A chap once decided that since he didn't trust doctors would do ALL his own diagnosis and treatments -- including operations -- himself.

    He did this following extensive research from medical text books.

    All went well for many years, but he still died -- from a typographical error! :))

The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

    Anulom Vilom - Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril  

    then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril  

    then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril

    then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.

    This is one cycle of anulom vilom.

    Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).

    You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs.You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

    Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.

    Duration : 5 to 10 times

This is for life unlike short term classes where you do it in the class then stop when classes are over.
