They'll probably numb you up with Lidocaine; they hardly ever use gas anymore... I can be dangerous. I don't think any of the clinics in my area use gas. You'd be find to drive with Lidocaine, so you may want to suggest it, or just ask your dentist what he recommends.

Most people can drive themselves home after having nitrous oxide (laughing gas /sweet air) at a dental appointment. You should have someone with you in case you are not one of those people!!!

If you don't want gas, I'd at least see if you can get some Valium.

Also consider with Nitrous you can drive home after the appointment .
