idk, sometimes i think they can and sometimes i think they can't.

"Can" hurt? Yes. "Will" hurt? Generally not. On rare occasions, if someone is being rude or trying to provoke the spirit, there is a consequence, but in general it's just not common enough to worry about. However, it's prudent to not try to have that kind of an experience.

This isn't to say that there aren't reports of ghosts doing things to get attention that don't feel good. But in general, they don't really like contact and won't seek it out.

I've been slapped before by something unseen. It's upsetting. But in the end, it was all just skin irritation (as uncomfortable as it was). There are few things that a ghost can do to actually cause serious damage to anyone. I have read about 150 years of data on ghost hunting in one of the books my uncle owns, and in all that time, one death has ever been attributed to a ghost, which apparently punched a man who was trying to provoke it on a castle rampart in Europe. He then fell 30 meters to his death. So, don't be high up when you provoke a spirit into responding.

On 120 investigations, it's happened to me one time.

Yes, I believe that there's some spirits that can hurt us. These spirits are pretty rare but they can come out to so called play with us. These spirits were probably killed in terrible ways and want someone to pay for this especially people who have moved into their home or where ever else they may live. they do not want to be disturbed and let you know about it. Some will physically hurt you and do other things that are really scary. These spirits can also be people that in human form they were really bad people and in death still are. They can also be demons that refuse to leave and cause a lot of terrible things to happen. These bad spirits can also follow you from house to house..

LOL, if you believe ghosts can hurt you physically, then you need to use logic to examine the concept of a "ghost".

Ghosts are not physical beings. If they were, we could feel them with our hands, and see them with our eyes. Clearly that is not the case or we would be bumping into ghosts everywhere we went (if you believe in them at all).

So if a ghost is not a physical being, then it is IMPOSSIBLE for it to interact with the physical world, including human beings.

I do not believe in ghosts but I believe in spirits -- good and evil. I believe that sometimes evil spirits prey on vulnerable human souls and influence them, and this is what we perceive as the supernatural, including "ghosts".

The fact is, however, a non-physical being could not directly interact with physical objects. If a ghost can not directly interact with physical objects, then it can not hurt a person. Period.

In response also to the answer one or so above me... Ghosts are just energy.  Energy cannot be created nor destroyed.  If a thought is also energy... as in 'thoughts really cause ALL'... I think the fact if a ghost can be able to hurt a mortal person lies in the intent behind the energy or 'ghost'.  A ghost may be forever enchanted by the love of a mortal companion, and that energy does not dissapear immediately.  But if the vengence upon one is so deeply set upon oneself prior to the grave.  Who knows?  Our thinking about it may be aiding the cause.  I just burned 20 calories thinking and wasnt even typing.

no, i do not believe they can. and i certainly hope they can't. ghosts arent evil (in my opinion) they are simply ghosts of the people they once were.
