There was no offense meant by the question. I had heard that some people think there is significance to it. Just wanted to see the validity of it.

  1. I believe that there are no spiritual significance connected to the called hurricane. Traditionally, the mentality of certain people who are supersittious or paranoid believe in anythings that affected their livelihood.

Hurricane, cyclone and typhoon are synonyms for the same weather phenomenon. They describe raging spirals of wind and rain that are born near the the equator overseas with a surface temperature of at least 27*C and wind speed can reach about 320 km/h (200mph).

  2. It remains to be seen!  But one thing is for sure- God is Not happy with us, not at all!

  3. new orleanz iz jusz by dah waterr

  4. No.

Despite one of  the most prevalent myths, New Orleans is NOT "prone" to hurricanes or being flooded. That would be Florida.

The last hurricane to hit New Orleans before Katrina was in 1965 and before that was in 1947. Neither of those flooded the city proper like Katrina.

Also, it is still too soon to know where Gustav will make landfall or how strong it will be when it does.

  5. I don't believe so.  I think it's simply location.

  6. Well last time the hurricane hit they were having a homosexual festival there. Is there another such festival?

  7. No more than there was with Katrina.  It is the way of things.  You build cities in the path of hurricanes and you sometimes get hurricanes in the city.

  8. Somehow, Atlantis comes to mind! If nothing else to let them Know that it is arrogant to rebuild a city and endanger people with a city sitting too far below sea level and leave the poor and helpless to fend for themselves as they did with Katrina.

  9. No, and as someone who was born and raised there, and still lives on the Gulf Coast, the question is disgusting.

There is no significance.  If God wanted to use a hurricane to impress me with his sense of justice, he would have done it the other way around.  Remember?  Katrina took out everything in N.O. EXCEPT the so-called den of sin that is the French Quarter.

Come to think of it, maybe there is something to it.

Maybe the meaning is that God is not as uptight as some people would like us to think.

  10. None at all.

If the hurricanes were somehow a punishment from god then you'd think he'd be doing the same sort of thing to San Francisco or many other cities - Rio, perhaps.

  11. Quite the natural geographic location its got there, yea?

  12. No. It's located at such a geographical spot where storms occur more often.

The bible did however speak of a time when disasters would happen worldwide. Signs of the last days (Matt 24 and Luke 21)

  13. No.

Hurricanes have hit New Orleans before, and they will in the future.

  14. Nope. It's the nature of Hurricanes to hit coast lines. It just so happens New Orleans happens to be on a coast line where Hurricanes are prone to hit.
