  1. I live in Copenhagen and I'm American (and I knew what Copenhagen was before I moved here).  So much for your theory.

Having said that, be prepared for a very expensive stay as Denmark is the 2nd most expensive country in Europe to live in (Norway comes in first.)

I don't know whether or not you've applied for SU - but as a student you should look into purchasing a monthly bus pass to get around with - which will depend on where you choose your apartment/collegium and which school you're attending.

If you have a bike, all the better.

Cheaper stores to shop in are Netto, Aldi and Fakta for food, etc.

There are plenty of pubs/bars in Copenhagen if you're into the drinking scene and yes, Tivoli is where many like to hang out and have fun.

    EDIT:

If you're renting an apartment, or hoping to, here are some websites:

Rents normally expensive (between 5-7k DKK a month), but if you're lucky occasionally you can find something cheaper.

Again, if you're looking to get around, a bike or the bus/metro is your best bet, with a month passcard as the most economically feasible option.

  2. umm...

  3. What is it exactly that you want to know?  About the people, clothes you should take, how to grocery shop or get around or social aspects. With a little more information I could probably take a stab at answering.

I spent about 4 months in Copenhagen as a student and I absolutely loved it!  It was such a wonderful friendly country and leaving was one of the hardest things I have ever done.

  4. I was so confused at our question first.  I used to work at a gas station that sold a brand of tobacco called Copenhagen. XD

  5. Ha ha.. tobacco brand..

Hejsa!  Jeg kommer fra København :)

Copenhagen is a great place to live. Compared to London, Denmark's capital is very different. I like to think that we Danes are friendly but you can get the occasional strange old person ;) Tivoli is a great place to hang out and there are lots of young people there. 'ABSOLUT ICEBAR COPENHAGEN' is also a great place to be. It is what is sounds like- unique... Mail me if you want to any other stuff.. If not have a great time :)

  6. I just got back from 5 weeks in Copenhagen. Feel free to email (or better yet post a question in the comments section of my blog) with any questions you have that aren't covered in my blog.
