Question:

Is there something I can do?

I don't like being in my life so I read books that I can relate to enough that it becomes me. I become the main character in the book, or the star in the movie, and it becomes my life. What ever happens to them is happening to me. But when the book ends I fell like I don't want my life even more. And I desperately wish for something else to take me away.

I fear I am becoming depressed, although I will never admit to it. I want to feel better though. Please help if you can.

  1. keep busy, get out more!

  2. I know what you mean, I am 13 and I love to read books, Jacqueline Wilson mainly. Sometimes, reading just lets you get away and what I love about Jacquline is that she really gets into a kids mind, and I feel like Im the charactor, and like I understand what they mean. I get very very upset a lot of the time due 2 bullying, family and things like that. and i dont have many friends either, so that doesnt help.

so usually when im feeling low, i invite my friends round and have a sleepover, but you're probaly a lot older than me so that may not be a good idea! lol

    what you could try is...

right down all your worries, fears or things that have upset on a piece of paper and burn it. then every morning, have a piece of paper and a pen next to your bed and write down things you have to look forward to or things that you would like to achieve. achieveing your goals will make you feel proud and if you write down things that you had a good time doing, then you can look back on it and remember the good times. taking lots of photo's when you go on a nice day out will help you remember the good times too. you will remember why life is worth living.

i want to be a writer when i am older, and writing is my way of getting away from everything, have you got anything like that? i am also very intrested in photography, you should try photography, it shows all the beautiful things in life when other people find it hard to see them.

I hope this helped, I know a lot of people who feel the exact same way as you do (including me)

    Jodie.
