I was reading a research about n**i culture. A study about their military symbols, emblems, rituals, and way of thinking.

I wonder who does such researches? Is there anything such as Military Anthropology?

  1. What you are talking about would be history, not anthropology.  I have  a history degree and an anthropology degree.  Back when I was studying I had some uper level seminar classes in history where we spent endless hours picking through archivial information to determine the aspects that you are refering to.  I suppose that a cultural anthropologist could try and hijack this subject simply because the anthropological field is just so holistic in its scope but to me these questions that you are asking belong and are asked and answered in the feild of history.

PS, I specialized in European and Canadian WWII history.

And, yes.  "way of thinking" and personal accounts are definitely a part of historical studies as well and are not just within the realm of anthropology.

  2. I would say it's just a specialized category that can be studied under the broad field of cultural anthropology.

  3. you do do - don't you have a war museum where you live or am i being impudent

most interesting thing i ever thought about the n***s and Hitler his way in to the peoples minds...

they didn't see it coming until they were enslaved by the routine

he started with the children in the schools

    military corps

parents didn't quite like it but the children appeared happyer more in control of themselves...

then the parents had no choice but to follow the childrens lead

or stand back and blindly watch them go out into the big bad world

  4. Yes. They could do research on the war articles and remenants.

But they would do something more like researching war victims and the impacts of war.

They should do some military anthropology to cconduct research on militant minds and their effect on governmental decisions and on society well being in general.

I like some anthropologists that say you cannot simply study anything. It has to be specific. Then I like to say- Oh yes you can... and most things should be studied because so many things need to be improved.
