  1. Only thing that springs to mind is eBay .....

  2. No, but I still buy from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk as they ship to Australia and the range of CD's and DVD's is awesome.  I guess the nearest shop to Amazon in Australia is JBHIFI, they have a pretty good range. Any hard to find CD's and DVD's have shops in the major cities, like Basement Discs at 24 Block Place, Melbourne.  By the way Amazon will only send CD's Books and DVD's internationally.  For homewares I would try one of the big department stores like Myers.  Alternatively the big 2 supermarkets Safeway (Woolworths) and Coles have them.

  3. It seems not I did a amazon.com.au search it brings up something else. Paying by paypal is safe if you would like to register go to https://www.paypal.com/

  4. Unfortunately there's no Amazon here in Australia, but I buy most of my books from Amazon.com and find it's still cheaper than buying in Oz (even with shipping), not to mention that I can get titles that are simply not available here. Other than that, there's always eBay and Oztion

  5. Not really. There are separate sites where you can buy books, housewares and so on but nothing under one "roof". I often buy books and DVDs from amazon in the US because the rate of exchange for us (Aus) is so good at the moment, it's often worth it. (*nb if you're buying DVDs from the US you will obviously need a multi-region player! Mine is from K-Mart*)

I'm from the UK where they have amazon and the lack of it here in Aus is very frustrating, but hey, life is so great here, there are worse things we could be missing (like the SUN, lol!!)
