Is there something seriously wrong with my eye?

last week i think i had an allergic reaction to something...i had hives all over and eventually my right eye swelled and got really itchy. then it turned red and it got worse ever since last week.

then i woke up today and i have 3 little white dots on the colored part of my eye. i tried looking it up online and somethings i found were cataracts and ulcers...which kinda scares me.

i wear contacts, but since i've been having this problem i've only been wearing my glasses. it only seems blurry when i have my contacts in...otherwise my vision is fine with just my glasses. since it's the weekend, i can't go to the doctor until monday...which i plan to do...but for now, do you think it's something serious or just something that can be taken care of with eye drops or something?

and i've been using visine...but it hasn't helped.

  1. get to the doctor. it might just be an infection from your allergic reaction. and it may just need some prescription drops, but definitely see your doctor and don't worry too much until you know for sure.

  2. Go see an eye specialist right away.  I had a similar problem and I was diagnosed with uveitis. My doctor started me right away on steroid drops.  It might not be the same but go right away.

  3. stop using visine.  Use unpreserved artificial tears they're much easier on your eyes.  Call your Optometrist office. My doctor has an emergency call number if you reach our office after hours.  If nothing else call you doctor first thing monday.  An untreated infection can lead to permanent scarring.

  4. I would definitely make an appointment with your doctor or nearest optician.

  5. Alergic reaction from wearing contact lenses stop wearing them and go see the doctor immediately
