Question:

Is there something to help read a standing or propped-up book via magnification?

I am trying to help a classmate of mine with her typing book. All typing books that I have seen are ment to be standing upward so the text is almost vertically flush (like most computer monitors - I would compare).

She needs to be able to read the text to be able to type it into the program. She can see it, and has been "getting along" fine, but she does struggle a lot. I don't have the slightest clue what to ask for in terms of objects that might help except for magnification (like a magnifying glass). Obviously she can't hold a magnifying glass while trying to type, so I am wondering if there is a commercial product that stands at a slight angle. I have an image in my head of what one might look like if I have actually seen one. In plain computer characters it would look like this:

from the side. I imagine that there is convex glass that has its thickest part in the center.

My guess is that visually impaired consumers would already have this need filled. Thank you.
