I have my period and I do competitive dance so its kinda hard to do that with pads so I tried tampons... I tried it once and I got extreme pain to the fact that I was crying and I had to take it out... So I tried again and I got the exact same thing again.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Am I doing something wrong 'cause I did what the instructions said?

I'm really confused and I'd really like help please:)

Thanks.

  1. I had the same thing.

Try using a different size of tampon.

An make sure you have it in good enough.

    Hope this helps

    xx

  2. Yeah it happened to me the first few times i tried to put it in. It means that you probably aren't inserting the tampon at the right angle. It will also be a bit uncomfortable the first time you put it in because you are beginning to stretch your v****a. Try using some lubricant so that it can go in easier, or try buying slim ones for your first time.

I would say to practice inserting the tampon. If you are using the kinds with the applicator take out the actual tampon and practice putting just the applicator in at a slightly different angle to see whats the most comfortable.

  3. you probably didnt puch it up all the way that was ho i was the first time i used one soo next time try to push it up more!! hope this helps

  4. ok.. nothing is wrong. if it feels like a sharp pressure like pain then its probablt the tampon bieng up against ur cervix... i use playtx sport and sometimes tampax pearl. playtex sport is sorter than most tampons. so it will probably give you less pain.

  5. you are probably inserting it in the wrong place. it can hurt if you dont do it right. "/ try sitting on the toilet w/ your legs spread apart and point the tamp towards the small of your back...point it more horizontal than vertical and hopefully it will go in better. if you have more questions, ask your mom or a trusted woman adult. :]

  6. maybe you should try a different brand of tampon.

i would suggest using playtex sport because it's made for girls who move around a lot and need all over protection.. that's why it's named playtex SPORT (for sports and movement). if it still gives you pain, talk to your doctor... maybe you really are doing it wrong. "/

  7. try super slim with an applicator.

you probably put it in an angle or incorrectly or maybe in your wrong hole.

get a "tampax" they have applicators and try using vaseline on the tip of the applicator and put it in then push the base of the applicator and you have a tampon inside you correctly and no worries.

    vaseline and tampax(Y)

if you cant get tampax try covering the tampax in vaseline and slid it in.

    It'll work

  8. its ok, the same thing happened to me when i first started using tampons. i thought something was wrong but, all your doing wrong is not inserting the tampone high enough into your v****a. make sure you push the applicator in until you really can't go higher. if you feel pain or discomfort, slowly take it out, and try again with a new tampon.

  9. Just a guess. But its probably your hymen. Probably in the way and is very tight. Nothing wrong with you though, pretty normal.

  10. definetely agree with #1 answer. it hurts only if you put it in wrong. youll get it right!

  11.   the only reason it might be painful to insert a tampon is because of the dryness  Try some lubrucation

  12. The ones with plastic applicators *definitely* make things easier for girls who've never used tampons before... but once you know how, anything that's comfortable to wear will be easy to insert.

Helpful advice (beyond the semi-useless package directions)? Yeah... just three things:

    1) Aim the tampon more towards your back than upwards... your v****a actually goes *back* for more than half of its length, not just up... and push it in gently (twisting it back and forth a bit might help it slide more easily) as far as the applicator will go while you're still holding the end of it.

    2) It'll be easier to do the first time if things are slippery "down there", so don't wipe away any blood and stuff until you've got the tampon in place. If there's very little blood there, just smear a couple of drops of saliva on the tip of the tampon (or its applicator if it has one) and it'll make things a lot more comfortable.

    3) Relaxation is **important**. If relaxing isn't easy for you, try pushing just a little bit as if you're trying to p**p or pee... your pelvic muscles will relax a bit and that will help a *lot*.

There's an OK video instruction about it at http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/...

  13. I agree that your hymen is probably being stretched by the tampon. Hymens have holes through with the menstrual fluids pass, but they are all different sizes. Your hole might be smaller. Are you trying  juniors or slimfits? They are thinner. That might help.

  14. try playtex sport. I tried those for my first time using tampons and they are easy to insert because of the plastic applicator and you literally don't feel them.

but when you aren't dancing, use pads because using tampons all the time can cause yeast infections and stuff. my obgyn told me that.

  15. usually the only reason it hurts is if its not inserted properly make sure you have the whole thing in and that only the string is hanging out
