  1. If you just got him, he's probably just adjusting to his new surroundings. I've had new bettas hide and refuse food for nearly a week before finally settling down and acting comfortable in their new home. Just give him a few days to settle in.

    Good luck!

  2. he might be sick? unhealthy? when i got my male halfmoon betta he was really energetic and wanted to swim aorund and adventure around his tank. i dont think its normal (unless yuo have a lazy fish) he could be stressed from the move, did yuo check the temperaturs in the waters? were they kinda the same he can be in shock cuz of the water diffrence. did yuo put dechlorinater in the tank?

  3. *just got as in how long ago?

    did you acclimate him?

    what's the water temp?

    how big is he tank?

*if you just got him within the past few days it's likely he's just stressed out by the new surroundings.

*if you didn't let him float in the water until the water he came in and the water in the tank were equal, he may be in shock.

*if the temp is bellow 78*F he is probably cold, get him a heater.

*small bowls are often used to house bettas, and then people wonder why their fish never moves. well in such a small space there isn't much to do, make sure it's at least 2.5gallons (big enough for the smallest heaters).
