MOST OF D TIME, WHEN I PASS UNDER A STREET LIGHT OR A LIGHT POST, IF D LIGHT IS OFF, IT WILL TURN ON , AND WHEN IT IS ON, IT WILL TURN OFF. I WONDER WHY IT HAPPENS MOST OF D TIME.. AND IT DID NOT HAPPEN IN ONE PLACE ONLY.. IT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE I GO! & I REALLY DON'T EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN WHENEVER IT HAPPENS! I JUST WALK ON THE STREET, THINKING OF OTHER THINGS, THEN, I WILL JUST BE SURPRISED BECAUSE D LIGHT WILL JUST GO OFF OR JUST TURNS ON WHEN I PASS! IT SURELY HAPPENS AT NIGHT OR EARLY MORNING OR WHENEVER IT IS DARK OUTSIDE (BECAUSE STREET LIGHTS OR LIGHT POSTS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON WHEN IT IS ALREADY DARK ONLY, RIGHT?). AND ONE NIGHT, I'M WITH MY FRIEND. WHILE WE WERE WALKING ON THE STREET, TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING, AS WE PASS UNDER A STREET LIGHT THAT IS OFF, IT TURNED ON AND WE WERE SHOCKED BECAUSE AFTER WALKING AGAIN, TALKING ABOUT THE LIGHT, AND PASSING BY 2 OTHER LIGHTS, ANOTHER LIGHT THAT IS ON TURNED OFF! IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY BODY? IS MY BODY ELECTRICALLY CHARGED?

  1. It's SLIders Phenomenon. Street Light Interference . It happens to a lot of people who are on this section.

  2. Well remember our nervous system communicates with its neurons by sending electric and chemical signals......in my opinion some people can channel that energy and affect the environment...

  3. But it doesn't happen *every time*?

Street lights have very large bulbs that burn very hot. They are made to go off at some point to cool off some, then come back on. There are a lot of street lights out there, many people commonly see the "phenomena" rather often.

  4. You aren't causing the lights to go off and on.  This is what's called confirmation bias.  Read more below:

  5. There's nothing wrong with you.  My son has the same thing happen to him.  With me, I can't wear watches or change light bulbs.  Every bulb I change blows out the next time the lamp is switched on.  Watch batteries go flat on me within 48 hours, so I've given up wearing one.  Are you at all "sensitive" to paranormal activity?  I've read a study done by the Avalon Foundation that relates to this.

  6. It's either coincidence or you're an attention seeker, no offense intended.

If this was actually occurring to you you could make a small fortune by going public.

  7. In many cities, streetlights turn on and off at regular intervals. It is by design, and it is not your fault.

By the way, "the" is spelled "t-h-e" not "D".

  8. Yes this happens to me all the time! My husband noticed that I turn on and off lights, now he does it too when he's not with me. How could it have passed on to him and why does it happen? I've got all the same questions it's strange. And yes I do paranormal investigations and have noticed after a meeting or investigation it happens more frequently.

  9. it is too help you understand every thing

  10. Nothing is wrong with you. Lots of people notice this. Please check out the link to Cecil Adams' "The Straight Dope" column from 1994 on this exact subject:

  11. No, streetlights just normally flicker or turn on/off by themselves. You just think it's you because you're looking at streetlights that are near you. It's harder to see them flicker when they are far away. Sorry you don't have special powers. Bummer.

  12. Look up "sliders" on the internet.  Maybe it will give you some insight.  This happens to a lot of people including myself.  It used to happen to me a lot on the ride home after a paranormal investigation.  That's when I noticed it happening the most.  Now, I'm not sure if it's paranormal, related to energy in my body, or if it has to do with car headlights and/or the fact that a lot of street lights are on a timer, or perhaps they are on a thermostat and go on and off depending on how hot they get at any given period of time.  Hope this helps!
