Question:

Is there something wrong with my eyes? Could it be caused by another medical condition?

I have pretty bad eyesight to begin with, I wear contacts and glasses and they're a pretty high prescription, I think around -6.25 for one eye and -6.5 for the other(could be wrong, but it's estimated). I'm worried they might be getting worse, my eye doctor told me last time I went in about 4 months ago, that my eyesight will pretty much stay from now on, because of my age, but at random times, I will see lights skidding across in my peripherals, kinda like if you hold your breath or cross your eyes long enough that all you see is lights and colors(i know because i used to do it when i was little, i thought it was cool lol). I just want to know if there's something I can do about it, if I should go see a doctor, or if it could be related to a medical problem, i have none that i know about, but i want to get checked if it's a possibility. I did have an eye infection over a year ago, caused by a septoplasty i had done, I almost lost my vision in one eye, but luckily i went to the doctor as soon as i noticed a problem and got it fixed within a month. Please let me know if you know anything about this sort of thing. Thanks!

  1. If you're just worried about your eyes getting worse, that is normal.  Myopia usually progresses through the teens and then stabilizes in the twenties.

I am not sure about the skidding lights in your periphery.  I would ask your doctor more about it if you don't understand why it's happening.

  2. if your really concerned you should go see the doctor, even if its nothing. "Better safe then sorry", right?
