I know that adding sockets to an existing ring main doesn't need to go through building regs, but I'm gonna do some other stuff that I'm not so sure about. Any ideas? I live in sussex if that makes a difference?

  1. Just enter Building Regulations into Web Search or you can visit your local Council and pick up a booklet which tells you everything you need to know.

  2. Check your local city or county web site.  The laws very so much from county to county and state to state that it would be impossible to have one site to cover them all. If you pay a visit to your local building inspector they can help you out.

  3. All the approved documents are available on-line: http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/england... or google Approved Documents. Look at Part P. Nice part of the world Sussex.
