  1. The Princely states were abolished when India gained Independence. So there are no more functioning "Rajahs" or "Maharajas" since Royalty has been stripped.

    However, there are still Princely families around, for example. the aristocratic Scindia and Gaekwad families that have descendents of former kings and princes living till today. Many of them are prominent and active in polittics.

  3. Officially no but unofficially yes.. The kings has still possesion of their properties and many of them still comand respect among the subjects many of them have entered in politics and achieved very good position  In fact some of them are ruling states like rajasthan madhyapradesh etc.

  4. Officially there is no Rajah after abolition of princely states when India got Independence,but now this place has been taken by our elected representatives of Parliament,they treat the people of India like there Praja.
