so im going to enroll in officer training in the army, they are going to drug test me and ask if i did drugs. the last time i did pot was when i was 13 with friends but now im 20, i did it like 3 times in one month and stopped ever since. is the pot still in me, and can they potentially call some friends to ask if i did pot? if i tell them i did pot 3 times when i was 13 can they use it against me to not apply me to the army? i was young and stupid back then.

  1. Do not mention it if they do not ask.  If they do then you will have to lie.  If you do say you took it, then they will not let you in.  Plus, they do random drug testing.

Remember, if they catch you lying then you can be dishonestly discharged and end up in jail.

  2. More than likely they will not use drug experimentation you did when you were young as an offense. The drug test will prove you have not done it recently. You are probably best off saying you have done it when you were 13 if they ask.

The only time drug usage in the past becomes an issue is when you applying for jobs with the CIA, FBI etc etc.

If you focus your energy on the other elements of the officer training the drug test will be a breeze. It's difficult to believe that every single officer in the U.S. Military has never ever done drugs. You'll be fine.

  3. If there is no criminal background of you doing it, THEN DO NOT MENTION IT. I knew that to late, and put it on my pre screen, nothing happened was still open to all of my jobs I qualified for. If you did say something and you said more than six times, you will need a medical waiver saying your clean. Pot will be out of your system, on average it is found in your body up to a month after you smoked, that varies though pending body fat and all that, but if it 7 yrs ago, you'll for sure p**s clean.

  4. If you're wanting to be an officer, then you need a degree.  As you type like a middle schooler, I'm guessing you don't have one.  Secondly, officers are held to a far higher standard than enlisted.  They have this thing called "Conduct Unbecoming and Officer."  Pretty much anything that isn't in the UCMJ but looks bad for the service, they can nail you.  You really want to make a difference?  Go enlisted first.  After your first enlistment, then go green to gold.  You'll have experience under your belt and the enlisted will respect you more because you've been in their boots.

  5. The drug use will not matter unless you have done it within 30 days. If they take a hair sample it will be there for about 6 months.

If you want to be a Marine, or a member of any of the armed forces, then you need to start now to prepare yourself.

Here's what you need to do.

Starting tomorrow get up at dawn. Do the three S's. Clean your room so clean that your mom will be amazed. After that go out for a run. Run as far as you can - then run some more. When you get back to your house eat breakfast. You can walk for awhile. Then start to run again and keep running until you fall down. Then get up and run again.

All the while you are running have one of your friends scream at you and tell you what a worthless piece of Sh.. you are.

If you can't do this for at least 8 weeks you will never make it past basic.

What I have said is just a small taste of what you will actually experience.

You can come out a better man on the other side. If you survive.

I was in the Air Force 1967 to 1971.

I came out a better man for it.

    Good luck!

    Al

  6. Drug usage does matter even if it was a while ago.  In your case it would be considered experimental and shouldn't be a problem.  Even if time has past since you last you used and you used it more than a certain number of times it won't be considered experimental.  Also for some positions certain type of drugs, even if used only once, can disqualify you.
