Ok so in the 24 hr clock (digital) we have 00:00 and 12:00

In the 12 hr clock (analogue) we have 12 and erm 12.

So is there actually 12am (as am means anti meridian (before12) ) and 12pm (as pm means post meridian - after 12 again!!!))

I'm really confused

  1. 12am is 12 midnight, 12pm is 12 midday

  2. In my own warped imagination, AM means After Midnight, and PM means Pefore Midnight (that is, if you're Estonian and pronounce "b" softly, like "p").

    But yes, 12am is midnight and 12pm is midday.

  3. it's called

    some old genius that came up with the way of times and dates to make our lifes easier

    so why are you thinking about it and making your life harder?

  4. No.

    P.M. means Post Meridian (after midday)

    A.M. means Ante Meridian (before midday).

    12 can't be after 12 or before 12.

  5. am = 00:00 - 11:59

    pm = 12:00 - 11:59
